Hi Claude, I am new here, and I am struggling with something basic as recording a sub.
When I try, I just go to the sub pannel, set up the channels to de desire levels, and write record (or Record, I have tried with both) and the number of the sub where I want it to be recorded. However it is not working properly... sometimes it does, but sometimes, most of them, it records the sub in a previous number of the one I am typing. For example if I write record:2, most of the times it is recorded in number 1, overwriting what it was in sub 1 previously.... Getting crazy here...
Thanks for the help.
Recording subs
Re: Recording subs
You may be best off recording subs from "Live" mode.
The blind editing modes, "Cues", "Groups" and "Subs", are direct editing. If you make changes to the current sub, it changes that sub. Recording the levels you see in "Subs" mode as the current sub is redundant. (The current sub is already changed.). You can record a sub you are viewing in "Subs" mode as a different sub. If you do that, you duplicate the sub you were viewing when you recorded. I think this may be what happened to you that caused confusion.
In live mode, press [r] (Record), followed by [s] (Sub:) followed by a number and [return] to record what you are looking at as a sub.
If you want to edit subs in blind mode, you may want to use the {+} button in the Inspectors Cue Info tab. You'll then have a new, blank, sub in which to set your levels. (You can change the sub number right there in the Cue Info tab if you desire as well).
Setting levels in blind mode for any preset changes the preset (Cue, Group, or Sub) without the need for record.
In Live mode, simple [r] (Record:) will record cues. Pressing [r] followed by [s] (Record Sub:) allows you to record a sub from live. Likewise, [r] followed by [g] (Record Group:) lets you set the current live picture as a group.
