.asc

Postby pace514 » Fri Mar 07, 2025 12:59 am

Hello Claude !!!

I am not able to save anymore in .asc format. I get this error message: The document “Untitled” could not be saved as “Untitled.asc”.

I've tried with different version on both of my MacBook Pro. Either the possibility of saving in .asc doesn't show or if it shows I get the error message: The document “Untitled” could not be saved as “Untitled.asc”.

Any idea?

Thanks

Pascal

I'm not seeing a problem with ASCII export. It could be one of three things. It could be an issue that hasn't come up that is due to the contents of the file you are trying to export. Similarly, it could be an issue with one of the options for ASCII output you've chosen. And, problems always can be specific to a machine configuration or MacOS version. If you want to email a copy of the file you are having a problem with and a screen shot of the ASCII Options you have selected (the dialog displayed after the save sheet), we'll take a look.

Simple but obvious: Make sure that the main window is the front window when trying to save the file. If it is not and that is the issue, just post which window was the front and had the problem. You should be able to use File->"Save a Copy..." only when the main window is front and active.

The latest build, Version 6.6.5 (20107.1), has an explicit File->Export->ASCII... command.
