ETC Fixtures

Postby peplx » Fri Oct 04, 2024 6:09 pm

Hello. I'm looking add LED fixtures. I have the full version of LXPlan and was trying to create them but couldn't figure out how to add DMX profiles to the existing Source Fours. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I figured it out. I needed to start from a "New Key Entry" and work from there as opposed to trying to edit an existing fixture.

And I figured out if I Load Keys > ETC
I get all the things I need. Sorry I missed that I only was looking at the defaults.

It is not necessary to create a new key entry to add a profile to a fixture. You can take any SourceFour LED2 fixture from the library and add a profile.

In the properties dialog, switch to the DMX tab.

At the top there is a popup button/menu that allows you to switch between profiles and to manage them.

From that popup menu select "Add Control Profile"

From the popup at the bottom of the tab, use "Add Address" for the various parameters.

From the profiles popup at the top, you can rename the profile or switch between stored profiles for the same key entry.

Of course, if you have two sets of the same fixture that are set to different profiles, you do then need separate key entries for each subtype.
(If you look at the ColorSource Cyc fixture in the ETC key, you'll see it has two profiles that you can choose.)
