Import PDF but bad image quality

Postby Electrictuna » Mon Dec 26, 2022 2:55 pm

Hi, I'm very impressed with your great project and have just started to use LXPlan.

I usually plot symbols over existing PDF drawing (provided by the venue/theatre), so PDF import quality is quite significant for me.
However I found that LXPlan's imported PDF shows bad quality, jaggy and blurred.

It is also OK for me to convert PDF to super-high-dpi image file (png, bmp) and import it to LXPlan, but it also doesn't seem to make sense, because imported image is handled as fixed dpi - this means high-dpi images cause very large field of plots.

I will appreciate if above two issues could be improved.

LXPlan files can store imported graphics in either png or jpeg format. JPEG is much smaller but generally will be of less quality than PNG. JPEG also does not support transparency. Choosing View->Options and then the File tab is how you find the checkbox that allows you to select PNG over JPEG. Using PNG to save imported graphics may improve the quality when displayed in LXPlan.
