Check View->Faster PDF Display to see if it is enabled. This uses a lower resolution copy of imported PDFs when displaying to the screen. It can significantly improve screen refresh with large PDFs, especially those with lots of text. Although the image on the screen is lower resolution, the original PDF is retained and used when exporting or printing.

Another setting to check is in LXFree->Settings... In the preferences window select the "File / XML" tab. Be sure that the preserve PDF data option is checked. Not all operating systems have native support for PDF display like MacOS. (A big reason Mac is superior for graphics). LXPlan displays bitmap copies of imported PDFs. The original PDF data is retained in the file only if the preserve PDF data option in File/XML is checked. Otherwise, only the cross-platform bitmap version is saved. This reduces the file size because both a bitmap and PDF of the image are not retained. But, it means that you lose the quality of the original PDF.

Either of these things could be responsible for what you are experiencing.
