Showtec LED PAR 64 Q4-18 ?

Postby lumiere » Wed May 18, 2022 2:26 pm

Hi!

I'm trying to use some Showtec LED PAR 64 Q4-18 in a theater right now.
As I can't find the proper profile, I've tried many others but I don't achieve making them work.

What can I do ?

To setup a channel without a profile, you can add subchannels individually.

Select the channel you want to setup by clicking on it in the main display or typing the number into the command line.

Choose Channel->Setup Hilited Channels...

The default setup is for a single part generic dimmer. Select the row for the part and click the Edit button.

The simplest profile for the club-par-12 has only red, green, blue and white subchannels.

Select the existing intensity subchannel and click - to delete it.

Click the + button and from the available subchannels choose red.

*** Be sure that the address offset is 0, not 1. (+ column in the subchannels table)

Repeat clicking the + button and add green, blue, and white subchannels.

*** (These address offsets should follow in order 1,2,3.)

Rename the profile type from "dimmer" to "club-par-12".

From the mix type popup, select rgbw.

Click Done.

If desired, change the base DMX address.

Click OK.

There are two variations to this setup, adding virtual intensity and a more complicated profile.

To add virtual intensity to the above profile, edit the subchannels to add an intensity subchannel and check the virtual intensity box.

You can do this same procedure for the more complicated profile of the club-par-12.

First, go to View->Setup.

In the channels tab, add custom subchannels for "Programs" and "Fade Time".

Close the setup window and follow a similar procedure to the simpler profile above.

Add the subchannels in the following order (with the intensity subchannel having an address offset of 0).

Intensity
Red
Green
Blue
White
Strobe
Programs
Speed
Fade Time

The latest build of LXBeams has preliminary support for importing OFL json profiles. LXBeams already supports import of GDTF profiles.

It is possible to create a fixture in LXBeams key and then export its control profile(s) to LXConsole. (The latest build of LXConsole improves this process)
