Help with Subs

Postby Joeso » Wed Sep 03, 2025 11:25 pm

I need some help with the setting up the subs.
what I want is to have channels 1,2,3 (front) under sub 1. and 3,4,5 (sunstrips) under a different sub.
I visit a lot of different theatres with different lights so I want an easy way to dim the overall intensity of a set of lights instead of tweaking all individual cues. For example all front lights to 80% of the normal output and the sunstrips to 70% of the normal output.

How do I set this up? I'm working in Version 6.5.3 (18931.2) and there are a few extra options that I can't find in the help doc.

Hope someone can explain this and help me out!

To record an inhibitive sub, make sure that the channels you want to control are marked and set at 100%.
(Channel->Unmark All, then select the channels and set at full. Record the sub. example: [r], [s], [1], [2], [enter] to record sub 12)

Switch to blind subs mode. (probably from live mode)

Navigate to the sub. eg. [s], [1], [2], [enter]

In the inspector choose the Cue Options tab.

Check the "Inhibitive" box.

Now that sub proportionately dims all levels. When the sub is at 100%, the levels are normal. At 50% all levels are cut in half.

Note that any channels that are marked in the sub are controlled. If a channel is marked and set at 0% in the inhibitive sub, it does not ever come on.

Tnx so much! it al works sublime.
in the end I found out that selecting and deselecting isn't the same as marking and unmarking.
