Make Profiles

Postby nizer » Fri Oct 22, 2021 8:10 pm

Is there a way to make my own profiles for lights missing from the prebuilt ones?

Where do you get profiles?

My old ones for the older version don't seem to be importable?

To make your own profile:

---) Select a channel either by clicking on it or by entering the number in the command line.

---) Choose Channel->Setup Hilited Channels... (Cmd-/)

---) In the parts table, select the part for which you want to edit the profile. Click the Edit button.

To use a profile from an older version of LXConsole, open a file containing that profile in LXConsole 6:

---) Select the channel and use Setup Hilited Channels... to open the Channel Setup dialog.

---) Select the part that has the profile you wish to use. (You may wish to edit it. For example, to rename it other than "device")

---) Click the Export button.

You can store the exported profile in the Library folder or somewhere else. If the file is saved in ~/Library/Application Support/com.claudeheintzdesign.lxseries/LXConsole it will appear in the popup when you click "Set Type..." If it is stored somewhere else, you can use "Choose File..." from the Set Type popup and find the file and import it into a channel part in a different file.

LXBeams 6 is capable of importing profiles from GDTF files and exporting them to LXConsole. GDTF files containing fixture profiles available from https://gdtf-share.com.
