Independent Subs

Postby JePiPo » Wed Apr 03, 2024 5:15 pm

Hello,

Is it possible to have independent sub : I mean have a sub who's not recorded when is on with a master ?

For instance my sub 21 is house lights. When we are rehearsing sometimes i need to put a little light in the house and if, at that moment, i correct a cue the house lights are recorded !

There's a way to avoid that ?

What’s the use of « Independent » in the Subs Option ?

If that option do'nt exist, It’s could be interesting to implented. As you have implemented the possibility to put a master in inhibitive mode.

Thank's for your job.

The independent option for a sub makes it disregard the Subs-Master.

What you are looking for is Record: not record:

Press [shift] + [r] instead of just [r] to get Record: on the command line.

Record: does not include levels caused by subs when recording a cue.

Another option that works well with houselights is to park the channel at a low level. Parked channels are never recorded in cues.

(Make sure that Cue->Live->Master Park Enabled is checked)

For example, if house lights are channel 88:

[8], [8], [a], [2] [5] 88@25

[8], [8], [a], [p], [.], [enter] 88@Park-In-Place

or just

[8], [8], [a], [p], [2], [5], [enter] 88@Park25

either way parks 88 at 25%

then to un-park

[8], [8], [a], [p] [enter] 88@Park

released 88 from its parked level.

Note that parking holds the channel at the parked level and does not allow it to change either up or down. If you've parked the houselights, you need to un-park them to bring them full.
