Dimmers sometimes not going to zero

Postby kdchandler » Sun Feb 12, 2023 6:01 am

I'm a new LXConsole user (6.4.0) with the Enttec USB Pro interface. Intermittently a dimmer value of zero hasn't doused the lamps. It ends up between 5-10%. This happened on channel 48 in our concert venue during a test session today and on channel 1 at home this evening with some basic Chauvet LED fixtures. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks,

This is unlikely to be an issue with LXConsole unless you've done something like left a submaster up a little (happens with MIDI controllers when a fader is not quite all the way down). Or, you have two files open when one is hidden or minimized but has non-zero levels (LXConsole combines outputs when multiple files are open). You should be able to see the level in the main display (Live mode) if any of these things are happening.

Other possibilities are the standard DMX things, missing termination, using mic cables for DMX, bad cables, etc.

Interesting news that two open files will average out, rather than only the active file having control.

My terminator is 120 Ohms, not 110 and I'll recheck my cables.

Thanks,
