pointer as the go to

Postby iamcyclops » Sat Dec 04, 2021 11:29 am

I was just wondering if it was possible for the cursor not to always refer back to the selection tool
after each and every use of any given tool?

For example, If I'm drawing a line or a curve, or if I want to put in numerous lights onto the plan,
having selected and drawn a single line or placed a single light, the tool then goes back to default; the selection tool.

Every time I want to draw more than one line, I have to reselect the line tool after each and every line.
Every time I want to do use any of the tools more than once consecutively,
I have to reselect that tool after every single use.

My preference is that I select any tool and then am free to use as I wish
and then, when I am ready, I select the selection tool.

Hope that makes sense.

Double-clicking a tool "locks" it so that it remains active until another tool is selected.

The default behavior is to select an object after it is drawn so that its properties can be edited. Which is why the mode switches to the selection tool. When a drawing tool is "locked", a newly drawn shape is not selected and the tool mode does not change, allowing another shape of the same type to be drawn.

Thank you.
I didn't realise that I could lock the tool with a double click
That solves that!!!
