Export EOS magic sheet
Export EOS magic sheet
How do you export a magic sheet from LXBeams to EOS?
Re: Export EOS magic sheet
You'll find the EOS export function in the menu command File->Share->Export for EOS...
When you go to save the exported file, you'll see a popup in the Save Sheet that chooses how you want to export. One way is to export a "Lightwright" type file for getting your patch into EOS. Here's a link to a PDF that shows the process of doing this: https://github.com/claudeheintz/LXWorks ... %20EOS.pdf
The other four options are for exporting a magic sheet. You can choose to either use symbols built into EOS for the lights. Or, you can export the symbols from LXBeams as SVG files in a folder. In either case, EOS needs to know where to find the symbols to use. The four variations are either standard or exported symbols for either an EOS console or EOS Nomad running on a Mac. (The difference in the exported file is just the path to the symbol files)
To import the magic sheet into EOS, go to a Magic Sheet pane. In the editing tools, click the settings icon that looks like gears. Scroll to the bottom of the settings. Choose the text import icon. Find and open the file exported from LXBeams. As long as the symbols files match the variation you selected, the plot from LXBeams should get added to the magic sheet.

Re: Export EOS magic sheet
Aloha,
I experimented with the magic sheet export into EOS and a very complete plot opens up, but the symbols can't be selected the way EOS channel symbols or fixture symbols can be in live. I imported the symbols folder as images, and if the symbol is changed to the same image then it works, although the symbol line weight can't be changed. How do I import the plot as a magic sheet and have the symbols selectable without changing the symbols one by one? I'm using Mac Nomad to work off line but will be using the file on an Ion Xe. EOS version 3.2.11 (beta). LXBeams version 6.6.0.
Mahalo,
Lloyd

Re: Export EOS magic sheet
There is an "Interactive" box that is not checked. There's been a change to the EOS magic sheet text file. LXBeams 6.7.0 (22102.1) will now export so that the "Interactive" box is checked and you can select lights and their channel will appear on the EOS command line.
Note: it is not clear if the new EOS export for magic sheet will work with older versions of the EOS software.
