The Show Notes command opens a window that allows you to keep a series of text based notes with your plot.
The Save Current View command saves the current view settings. A saved view can be restored by selecting it from the views popup menu in the toolbar. You can either create a new saved view or change the settings of a currently saved view using this command.
Rename Saved View allows you to change the name of a saved view.
Delete Saved View allows you to remove a saved view from the plot.
To make the layout of a drawing easier and more accurate, you can display a graph paper like grid behind the drawing.
The Snap To Grid option will cause objects to stick to the nearest half grid square when they are dragged. If you are dragging a selection handle, it will snap to the closest half grid point.
When Snap To Grid is enabled, symbols will snap to the grid according to their center point. Symbols also "attach" themselves to positions and align themselves along the line. Holding down the shift key toggles this behavior, inverting the Snap To Grid setting.
Display Coordinates causes a "tool tip" to appear near the cursor showing its current location in drawing coordinates.
Zoom in and out allows you to see more or less of a plot. However, for text objects to be edited, the zoom must be at 100%. There is a preference in the general tab of the options dialog that allows you to use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom the plot.
The Draw Symbols in B&W command allows you to remove colored stroke and fill from symbols and instead render them with a black outline and white fill. You might use this option when printing or exporting when you wanted a non-colored plot. Choosing "Draw Symbols in Color" restores colored stroke and fill information.
