Text Tool
The Text tool can be selected by pressing the "8" key.
The text field tool allows you to add text to the drawing. When you click and drag using the text tool, you define a rectangle where the text will be centered. Immediately after releasing the mouse button, the text object will change to editing mode, displaying a flashing insertion cursor and allowing you to type in text. You exit editing mode by pressing the enter or return keys.
The text color and fill characteristics of the rectangle are controlled by the inspector's Drawing tab. The font face and size are set using the standard font panel.
Double-clicking a text object using the selection tool re-opens the text for editing.
The text field tool can be selected by pressing the "8" key when a plot window is the front window.
